Seat LeonSTChallenge Video…

Last month I was invited to join the LeonSTChallenge Team for a week of adventure challenges in Catalonia. I joined Tobias Mews, adventure journalist and writer for the Daily Telegraph, along with Sophie Radcliffe who runs the Challenge Sophie blog. Over five days we were challenged with a series of new adventures and sports as we journeyed from the high peaks of the Pyrenees down to the sandy beaches of Barcelona.

Day one started with some heart stopping Para-Motoring, which if like me, you’ve have never done this before, involves strapping an over sized fan to your back and running frantically across a field whilst trying to get a para-gliding canopy to lift you in to the sky… Sounds sane..? More like an idea even the Wright brothers would have dismissed! Still it appears to work…

Reuben_Tabner-9577We had the perfect day for it. Clear blue sky’s and a fantastic mountain back drop. Thoughts of the cold, grey rain we had left behind in the UK, never entered our minds… We watched hot air balloons, sky divers and well Para-motors making the most of the clear sky…

This is how it went down…

If you fancy a go at this slightly alternative way of flying, our instructor for the day was Alex Ledger of Sky School and he assured us, more than once that statistically it’s the safest form of flight… Unless you run out of fuel or do something stupid… Not that either happened to us….

And you can follow all of our adventures over on the LEONSTChallenge micro site…
