With the TORQ Trail Team for 2013 now out in the open, I can finally introduce you to the rest of my team mates. I’m honoured to be able to line up alongside these guys, who all have some amazing tails of their own…
After finishing his first marathon, Chris vowed never again… but then managed to run 2012km last year… and kicked 2013 off with the 30 mile Hardmoors race on New Years Day… Check out his blog… Any Idiot Can Run
For Hannah, running isn’t a past time, it’s her passion, so much so that she ran the Gore Tex Transalpine Run with her husband for their honeymoon, she now has her eyes on the Manaslu Trail Race and blogs at… Enjoying the Basics
Coming from a mountain bike background, Tim switched to running to keep fit, and then he did the TNF100 Australia in 2012 and he’s back out there this year to do it again, He is also down to do the UTMB-CCC this year.
Super-woman Mel is clearly driven! Last year she was running 150 miles per week and holding down jobs in personal fitness and as a nurse as well as managing family commitments. She set out to run from John O’Groats to Lands End, yet is totally modest in her achievements…
“’Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go” is the moto Lindley lives by. A firefighter, a running coach and a gym instructor Lindley has high targets for 2013, more experience than most and keeps a blog at… Fireman Not Sam.
Not much to say about this chap. Liking his sleep and never on time Reuben took up running to catch the morning bus to college, running the mile and a half, over fields and ditches he was forever chasing the bus along the road. This continued at university, where as a climber he would run from the mountains and chase the last bus from Braemar to Aberdeen. Eventually he took up running for pure enjoyment, loving nothing better than being in the mountains and hills.
Last but by no means least are Simon and Julie of Freestak who are the driving force behind the TORQ Trail Team. Both more than accomplished runners Julie has completed the Swiss Alpine 50 miler with a broad smile on her face whilst Simon has just set a 2:37:07 PB at the London Marathon. Simon writes an excellent blog at Simon Freeman.
